Welcome to the new website for the construction of the new Cancun Cathedral!

Discover the New Cathedral of Cancun
The project was born as a calling from God to build a worthy cathedral that would be the spiritual heart of Quintana Roo.
Within it, the faith of millions will be nurtured, society will be unified by inspiring everyone toward the common good, future generations will be cared for, the most vulnerable will be sheltered, thousands of visitors from around the world will be evangelized, and the natural beauty and historical legacy of our land will be celebrated.
Stage 1.
Celebration Center
It is the sacred space for the celebration of the sacraments and liturgical worship at the diocesan level. By incorporating the region's lush natural environment with elements of vernacular architecture, it will create an atmosphere conducive to silence, reflection, prayer, and contemplation.

A Cathedral in the Jungle
Creation praises God with flowers and living plants that beautify the temple and raise the soul to the Creator.

High altar
The main altar is the heart of the celebratory center, where Heaven touches Earth in every Eucharist.

Chapel of Perpetual Adoration
A place of silence and living presence, open day and night to be with Jesus in the Eucharist.

Confessionals
Discreet and sacred spaces where all souls will encounter mercy and grace.

Crypts
Surrounded by gardens and bodies of water, the crypts honor the life and faith of all who rest here.
Stage 2.
Community Center
Following the example of the Good Samaritan who takes pity on the injured man, approaches him, anoints him, comforts him, carries him on his horse, takes him to the inn, and pays everything necessary to heal the injured man he finds by the roadside, the new cathedral has this space dedicated to serving the most needy people and promoting the development of their talents so that they can be protagonists of their own destiny.

Drug Bank
There is a medicine bank for low-income people.

General Medical Service
We will have medical consultations in pediatrics, ophthalmology, and general medicine, as well as physical rehabilitation therapy.

Nutritionist, Psychologist, Legal Advice
People will have access to a wide variety of services for their overall health.

Listening Center
It will be a designated space for individual and group support such as Alcoholics Anonymous and more.

Pilgrim refuge
It will have all the facilities to receive pilgrims during their temporary stay in Cancun, helping them to avoid being on the streets and find their way.
Stage 3.
Pastoral Center
It is dedicated to addressing the pastoral training needs of diocesan pastoral commissions and dimensions, as well as movements, apostolates and ministries.

Convention Hall
It will have the capacity to host concerts, conferences, and pastoral events for up to 1,000 people, depending on the seating arrangement.

Retirement Home
It will have the necessary facilities to host national and international retreats for up to 100 people: Ignatian exercises, marriage retreats, youth retreats and much more.

Pastoral Halls
It will have more than 30 rooms equipped with whiteboards, tables, chairs, projectors and all the necessary equipment.

Pastoral Co-working
It will be an area available for pastoral coordinators, groups and apostolates to meet and work in a dignified and effective manner.
Stage 4.
Cultural Center
An area dedicated to reflecting the natural beauty of our lands, exalting the historical religious legacy of the state, promoting evangelization through the arts, and strengthening the community with healthy and safe coexistence.

Museum of Relics
Relics of Mexican saints and saints from around the world will be on display, with the relic of the Holy Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ as the centerpiece.

Sacred Art Gallery
It allows us to evangelize through painting, sculpture, and all kinds of art.

Cinema Room
The community, especially young people, will find a range of Catholic films within their reach that will allow them to deepen their faith.

Library
It will be a spacious and comfortable area where everyone will find the richness of our church's literature.

Services for Coexistence
The cathedral will be a vibrant place available 7 days a week to everyone, offering services that facilitate their stay such as a cafeteria, restaurant, religious shop, among others.

Garden of the Stations of the Cross
5,000 m² dedicated to commemorating the Stations of the Passion, culminating in the 15th station: the empty tomb. The garden will also feature Marian shrines and altars to saints.

Santa Cruz Monumental
Erected in the center of a (artificial) cenote, it will measure more than 25 meters in height and will be covered in flowers symbolizing that it is a living cross.
